Whilst going from a conceptual design to detailed design of an Offshore Wind Farm, it is critical for this process to ensure that a very methodical review of design options for all main Offshore Windfarm Components is carried out and documented.
Each design option is to be reviewed on their CapEx, OpEx, HSE risks, interface risks, installability, and other critical factors, allowing management to make informed component selection and design decisions.
EOS Maritime has been involved in setting up (Engineering) Decision processes, the writing of (Engineering) Decision Papers, and the day to day coordination of the Decision process.
Some examples of topics covered are: the selection of foundation types and design, turbine types, harbour selection, flange type, TP Connection, array cable and export cable sizes, routing and burial depths, etcetera.
